  • This place has a very good ambience. Quite neat place and the people are pretty decent and well mannered to the tourist visiting. A peaceful place. The best part is the beach where the water is safe to play and it's a long beach where we can go forward to nearly 100 meters without getting drown. Be warned, but still u have to be careful of the waves and always be aware.
  • It's a good place to hangout with children in evening time. This place Butter ball is well known place in Chennai. Still the mystery is not revealed about this particular place, here we can find a huge Rock standing without any support. And this rock looks so slippery and thus it may be termed as butter ball I think so. And small children use to play under this rock. This is a very good place to visit and this place hide our culture.
  • The Krishna's Butter Ball is a magnificent historical place. It is a natural wonder and an eye catching scenery to gaze on. According to history, Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb tried to displace the huge rock to use the space by elephants. The number of elephants isn't proven but is between 15 and 200. When he tried this, there wasn't any result and the rock didn't even move a bit. Since times before, many earthquakes and natural calamities have taken place but haven't been able to move the huge rock. Pro Tips: 1) Be careful while seeing The Krishna's Butter Ball as the surface is very slippery and one can slide. 2) Go there when there isn't much sunlight as it becomes really hot and you can't even open your eyes for a picture.
  • Located in Mahabalipuram, Krishna's butter ball is a wonderful example of balance. The huge stone is balanced on a slope with only 4 ft of surface touching the ground. There are a lot of local stories about it if you are interested and can talk to locals about it, if language is not a barrier of course. Located at a distance of around 70 KM's from Chennai, this place can be covered in a day with all the rest of the sight seeing. Best time to visit will be during Nov- Jan.
  • It's an amazing sight. The incline on which you can barely climb without bending and taking some support, sits a large ston boulder that isn't round per se but for the sake of argument it does make contact on a very small surface area with the incline. That's amazing. But don't be fooled to consider it a mythical marvel and the descriptions that say it lies on one single point, as you expect from a circle. There's definitely more contact area. There was huge rush when I went and it's really hot and humid during the day as it is near the ocean. Water, hats, sunscreen and some snacks by your side, and you can have small little picnic in the front garden. There's lot of traffic on the road overlooking the butter ball. So drive carefully and don't mind bumping into other cars. And yes, if you can be creative enough then the ball will provide you ample of background for some really cool and memorable pictures. Of course if there isn't anyone around that day and time, which might not really happen.
