  • Krishna's butter ball is one part of a complex of temples at Mahabalipuram. I am not into temples and such things, but Mahabalipuram is one where I would say you must do. The temples are spread over three separate locations. When you first enter the area, there will be guides galore offering their services. Check prices or get a good guide book before you go and plan what you are going to see. I have been three times the second time was with a guide we picked up on the way into the village. He might have known what he was doing, but he just wanted to get us around the sites and get into the next client. The third time was a guide arranged by the Leela palace hotel and he was brilliant.
  • A part of the rock has erored over the past many decades, giving it an egg shape. The rock is stable and doesn't fall. It also has mythological importance. This is an awesome transit point between Chennai and Pondicherry.
  • Not so bouncy ball! Krishna's butterball as it is called is famous for its design and defying the Physics laws. Its worth a visit but be cautious of the sun as the place gets hot fast and its only rocks in the near by area which doesn't help to keep the heat away.
  • Krishna's Butterball (also known as Vaan Irai Kal[1] and Krishna's Gigantic Butterball) is a gigantic granite boulder resting on a short incline in the historical town of Mahabalipuram in India.
  • Simply an amusement in the world of physics. Its surrounded by lot of beautifully carved monoliths though. Worth a visit for it all. Be weary of the sun beathing down. Do try the homemade buttermilk served by the local grandmas its delicious and extremely satisfying.
