  • This is a monolithic rock temple. It is one of ten rathas carved out of pink granite within the group of monuments of the Pallava period.  more »
  • The Ratha of Ganesh (Ganesh Temple Ratha) of Pallava era (7th and 8th century) is the only one of the Ratha to have a religious activité. A statue of the famous head of elephant, loved by all Indians God, receives offerings. Originally dedicated to Shiva, this small monolithic temple is of type shala, IE as a hall opening through a portico, with a roof in the shape of ship hull crowned by several pop, vase-shaped ornaments.
