Lingmala Waterfall, Mahabaleshwar

4.2
#2 of 7 in Nature in Mahabaleshwar
Waterfall Nature / Park
At Lingmala Waterfall, spend time enjoying yourself amid well-preserved nature. One of the tallest waterfalls in the area, at 152 m (500 ft), it offers an amazing view, especially during the monsoon season. However, during dry months, you can see only the lake beneath the falls. Take a short hike un the stairs to the top of the hill; you'll be rewarded with views of the amazing landscape, the falls, and the valley beneath you. Most kids can manage the hike, and the whole family should wear sturdy walking shoes, as the path can get slippery because of the rain. Make sure you bring your camera to take some amazing photos. Using our international travel planner, Mahabaleshwar attractions like Lingmala Waterfall can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • Flight of around 150-200 steps take you down. Then, you need to walk less than 100m on the left to the smaller waterfall with a huge pool formed between two falls, ideal for swimming. BEWARE. this pool is pretty deep (8-10 feet) after going a few steps ahead and around 4 feet before that. Not recommended for children to get in. Also, need to swim around 20 feet across the pool to reach the small water fall. You can sit down at the shallower end of the pool, opening out into another waterfall depending on the water speed. Walking around 500m to the other end takes you to the full fall of Lingmala waterfalls, about 500 feet with three distinct falls. We found good enough water volume in mid of June itself owing to good monsoons. The place around is highly scenic as well.
  • To reach its easy to walk down through steps for 1km is very easy. But climbing back to parking site is big challage. Beautiful view. Never enter in water here It's dangerous.
