  • Once reaching to the top this point provides a breathtaking view of the valley. I am sure people with fear of height will find it difficult to visit. Nothing much to do apart from this.
  • Great spot for close encounter with nature and a favorite spot for shutterbugs. View of the valley is breathtaking.
  • The Connaught peak point is a nice off beat place to visit when in Mahabaleshwar. It's situated adjacent to the Kates view point and well worth the effort of travelling from the main town area. It's b...  more »

  • Connaught Peak is the second highest elevation in Mahabaleshwar after the Wilson Plateau. To get here you have to take a small road through the forest uptil a small clearing where vehicles can be parked. Now take a 'staircase through the forest' - literally, to climb to the peak. This mini trek itself is a worthwhile experience and if you are lucky as we have been, you will see Giant Squirrels in the dense forest trees. The peak is a small plateau with 360 degree views of whatever falls within line of sight. On a clear day, almost upto the Arabian Sea. On a misty day, perhaps 2 feet! In September and October, the clearing on top is carpeted with happy yellow daisies. Sunrise and sunset are best times for spectacular views but anytime is worth it for a quick visit.
