Religious Site Tourist Spot
Adorning the old part of the city with its specific, Dravidian architectural style, Koodal Azhagar Temple is a famous religious site dedicated to the Vishnu deity. The temple is divided into three parts, on three floors, which house three Vishnu idols in different positions. So on each one you can see the sitting, standing, and sleeping Vishnu’s huge idols. Pay attention to the decorations and carvings on both the walls and doors, as well as the idols themselves, and enjoy the lively atmosphere of the site. • Excellent place. Define and peaceful. Neatly maintained.
  • A beautiful bustling divyadesam of Mahavishnu.. do not confuse with Alagarkoil Divyadesam few miles away .. Koodal Algar temple is very near Madurais Periyar Bus Stand and Railway station.. The greatest Vaishnavite shrine in Madurai city. Temple is big . Timings 6-11.30am and 4.30 to 8pm.
  • This very famous temple in madurai and this is the one of the108 thivyabrapandam Hindu lots of devotes come here every day at 5.30 am awards.
  • Nice temple to visit.. Especially u can climb over the gopuram and can have nice sitings... Don't miss..
  • Excellent Vishnu Temple! Thulasi Garland are accepted but only for Urchavar. Special entrance fee required for visiting Moolavar. Aandaal sannadhi is amazing. Lots of encroachment obscures the beautiful view of this temple. Hanumaan is on the way to Moolavar. Has Navagrahams as well. Though entry streets are narrow and crowded surprisingly has ample car parking opposite the temple. Must visit shrine!
