You’ll also find many letters of interest on display, as well as collections relating to India's fight for freedom, Gandhi's life story, and the nation's political history. • The Gandi museum is a very educational and fun trip. In this museum is the scarf of Gandi when he was killed. You see the blood there is still behind him.

  • The museum gives a lot of insight about Gandhji's life and struggle for freedom. It has peaceful environment and has also has basic sanitation facilities. Museum has free entry and ample of parking. One must visit this place.
  • This museum, has some articles related to Gandhi, other than that, it has nothing major to boast of. It is sitting on some seriously prime real estate and i am sure the city can do something with this and build a good monument. the building itself looks great and the place is kept very clean. Other than that if possible avoid it.

Where to stay in Madurai

Nestled in the central district close to the main religious sites lie a number of budget and mid-range accommodations. Located on the tangle of streets of this central area, the hotels and hostels have little space to work with, but offer rooms right in the heart of the city. If you're looking for something with a little more room to move and a more relaxing atmosphere, have a look at what's on offer in the more suburban areas to the west, and north across the river. Luxury hotels and resorts mimic the city's past regality, with infinity pools galore, fine-dining restaurants, and well-appointed rooms.
