Lion's Point, Lonavala

3.9
Admire nature's majesty and panoramic views from Lion's Point, a breezy spot 650 m (2,133 ft) above sea level. You can see dozens of small waterfalls gushing out of the steep cliffs, green conical hills, and scenic Western Ghats from there. Monkeys, cows, and bulls will keep you company at the spot, most likely asking for food. Small vendors sell tea, cold drinks, bhutta, and snacks, so all you have to bring is a good pair of shoes for the uphill climb. A breathtaking view point where you see the beautiful hill range of Lonavala through the cool breezing clouds which blow right through your face. A weekend on a rainy season would be an perfect visiting time for this point. However mind the area when visiting with families as a typical day would attract a fair amount of people enjoying the scenery with loud music and hard-alcohol.

It's a great place to take a break from the city's hustle and bustle. Unfortunately the night life is slowly killed by govt as you are not officially allowed to enter tiger point. Nevertheless I usually see hundred cars parked on the road and other small areas enjoying the climate and chilling with hot pakoras and Maggie.. it's an all time favourite..!

Actually it should be called ad Lovers point. Newly married couples ,and old couples also visit this place to renew their youth good memories. Natural scenery all around, water falls make this place worth memorable. But lack of parking, quality eatables etc. Is the need of the visitors.

So much rush is there. And 1 suggestion for visitors. Please DON'T MAKE THAT PLACE WORST BY KEEPING YOUR WATER BOTTLES AND ALL OTHER THINGS AS IT IS ON THE PLACE. Put that in dust bin so that place will be clean and you will enjoy that place more than now.

Good for a short visit. Nothing at the stop. No proper shops, sun/rain shed. Awesome scenery in monsoon. You will feel as if you are wrapped in cloud.

Where to stay in Lonavala

A resort town through and through, Lonavala has a large collection of accommodations to meet the needs of its guests. The built-up area around the train and bus stations provide some of the most suitable accommodation in town for budget-conscious travelers, including simple guesthouses and a couple of hostels. To the north around the bend of the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway, things get a little pricier and a little more luxurious, although standard hotels and guesthouses can still be found. Following the main roads out of the urban area in most directions, you'll find resorts in scenic spots, offering the chance to enjoy the fresh air.
