Bhushi Dam, Lonavala
(2.1/5 based on 180+ reviews on the web)
A weekend getaway, Bhushi Dam is favored among locals especially during Monsoon season when the water level goes up and the water spills over side steps and streets. Tracking along the dam provides scenic views of the river and the lake. In order to provide water for steam locomotives, the Indian railway built the dam in 1860s. In recent years, authorities made plans to turn the part of the dam into a tourist resort. Watching locals flock on the steps that lead to the dam with water splashing up to their knees can be fun. However, watch your step, since people have lost their lives jumping into the reservoir. Plan your visit to Bhushi Dam and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Lonavala itinerary builder.
