Hall of Fame, Leh

#1 of 13 in Museums in Jammu and Kashmir
Hall of Fame commemorates the Indian Army soldiers who lost their lives in the India-Pakistan wars. On the ground floor you can gather information about the troops and learn details about their fates, as well as purchase souvenirs. On your way up to the first floor, examine the exhibited war artifacts, weaponry used during combat, and important documents. The museum's displays can help you imagine what high-altitude battles at -50 C (-58 F) looked like; you can also watch a 30-minute film about the 1999 Kargil War. • A visit to this museum would go a long way in understanding a lot of our history not taught in our school books. A quick simple view at the Indian Map at this site caught me off-guard of how real life maps are different from the one's shown especially when there is conflict of control. There was a quote which said "Lest you forget the deeds done by brave men for your safety" it struck with me through the journey on how we take things for granted for which people have paid price with their life. A monumental visit you should not miss.
  • It's very nice museum, you can get knowledge about most of the freedom battles that had been held in the past.. the Technologies, the weapons, the plans of execution, etc.. All information about our freedom fighters who took part in those battles. Good maintenance and helping soldiers.
  • Love this place. Superb view and also its very interesting inside. You will get to know about army historic fight and local ladak culture in detail.
  • Don't miss this place if you're in Leh.. Get the glimpse of all the wars post independence through the memorials and life of the Indian Army here.. Our brothers (soldiers) love to see us at the Hall of Fame
  • A must go place for every Indian. This place will bring out your patriotism for sure. It is said that "only the best of friends or worst of enemies visit leh ladhak" the entry tickets are 20/- person. They charge 100/- extra to carry cameras. Carrying mobile phones is not chargeable. And they also have a store where you can buy some army relevant merchandises.
