Shanti Stupa, Ladakh
Categories: Sacred & Religious Sites, Tourist Spots
Visit Shanti Stupa to enjoy the serenity and excellent views. Since its establishment in 1991, the stupa, a spherical Tibetan Buddhist shrine, has become a popular tourist attraction due to its location overlooking the city of Leh. Built to commemorate 2,500 years of Buddhism, the shrine offers a peaceful place to meditate. Take a drive up to the hilltop or climb the 500 steps to reach the stupa, where you will be rewarded with panoramic views of the city, as well as the surrounding mountains and villages. With our online itinerary creator, Leh attractions like Shanti Stupa can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

Being at an altitude, one gets a great view of complete Leh city from Shanti Stupa. The wall engravings are beautifully done depicting the presence of Lord Buddha.
Another magical place not to be missed while you are in Leh. Best time to visit is in summers May to September and during Sunrise and Sunset. The clours of the sky, the panoramic view of Leh town, the mystical meditational temple, the Shanti Stupa cafe are some of the things you cannot miss while you are here.
This monument symbolises Peace & according to me, the best time to visit the monument is around sunset. You get to see the best of both, Leh in light, and Leh, by dark (night view). You should spend time going around the monument, in addition to taking loads of pictures!
A breath taking experience ...loved the view ...the peace we felt in our hearts....
Place to meditate. Calm and beautiful. View of the City and greenery is breath taking.
