  • Very nice place... Drive to the fort is awesome!! You can spot the fort from 20 kms before and that scene is amazing! Fort is however not well maintained, no facilities for tourists... there is a beach also near the fort. Must watch place!
  • A place of great historic importance. The fort looks small from outside, but is a huge 17 acre place inside. Each and every structure inside the fort is of specific importance, and its worth taking a guide for touring the place. Nice view of sea, beach and the place nearby. Also, Camping can be done at the base of fort.
  • Very well preserved and scenic views all around, Well connected with basic facilities around .
  • Historical place with great significance. Good sightseeing as well, surrounded by a beautiful beach. Take a guide to know the details. The fort was built around 1200 AD by Shilahara dynasty king Bhoja ll. It was later extended by Shivaji after he took the fort from Adilshah in 1658. Those interested in Maratha history must visit. One of the few Jaldurga- Forts surrounded by sea. It was capital of Maratha Armar-navy held by the Angriya's. The Vijaydurg battle of 1756 is a dark chapter of Maratha history.
  • Good sight seeing and specially we saw dolphins from fort side and small fishes which fly/jump out of water in bunches together making flash sound.
