  • A great place for bird watchers, for weekend outing or camping. It's a blend of nature and farming crops and the place is blessed by the richness of river Periyar which can be considered as the mother of Thattekad. Though the place is inhibited, it's wilderness is still preserved to its peak and thus making the place one of the best picturesque locations in Kerala. It's a good place for cycling, hiking or trekking and it also attract adventure lovers, "peace makers" and couples as well. These few words will never satisfy a person who wants to write about Thattekad, but without doubt anyone can simply mention that this is "The best place in Kerala for bird watchers and photographers!!!"
  • We (me and 2 of my friends) visited Thattekad Bird Sanctuary last week of March 2017. Our primary Objective was to see and photograph as many birds we can. Even tough we have chosen kind of off-season to visit, we were not disappointed at all. We captured many colorful birds we haven't see before. Place is awesome and a paradise for bird/nature lovers & photographers alike. We already have plan to visit again during peak season (Dec-Feb).
  • Having a good experience here. Its the most prominent bird sanctuary in kerala. Very cool ambience. Great place for bird mans!! There is large collection of medical plants, butterfly garden, boating are very attractive . Salim ali bird trial is an another attraction near to this ; gives a good and realistic forest walking through experience.
  • A very nice place to see. Next time planning for the stay in jungle tree house cottage which is also in front of the water body.... Also I think it's a place where you can see many birds but you need to go inside along with the guide...
  • A good place to adventure. The park offers you one to two hours of walk to find and capture some of the rare Indian and migrational birds. There is bossing over here to capture some more. Only 5 birds are on display if you don't wanna walk 😛
