  • Cracking trip, really nice staff, ridiculously nice boat. Would have been nicer to anchor in the middle of the river for the night but not sure whether that is possible.
  • The trip started from and ended in Kollam. The jetty is only 2kms from the Kollam Railway station. The houseboat was a 2-bedroom one, traditionally built yet clean and with all basic amenities. We boarded around 12:00pm and the ride ended next morning around 9:30am. From Kollam while on the way lunch was served, it went till Munroe island, where we were transferred to a small canoe and given a guided tour through the backwaters, as guide explained different aspects of life there, their occupation, agriculture, flora and fauna. He also arranged for fresh same day plucked tender coconuts. Showed us the tiger prawns cultivation areas etc. We could spot cormorant or snake bird, eagles, kingfisher, stork or cranes etc. After an hour we were again transferred back to the houseboat where tea/coffee was served and after a short sail the boat halted for the nightfall. We had earlier stayed in Allepey houseboat, but here comparatively the water was much cleaner and surprisingly no mosquitoes. We could see the Chinese fishing nets being arranged for the nightly catch, people rowing small dinghys as the activities in the the nearby neighborhood and backwaters was becoming lesser. The dinner was awesome with prawns and chicken prepared in local style. At dusk the ACs were switched on, but the weather was pleasant anyways, so had a good sleep. Morning breakfast is served at about 8:00am, local fare, idli-dosa with accompaniments. Pros: less crowded, neat and clean Cons: at our Allepey houseboat, the food served was elaborate with many varieties and tasted like 5-star, just for the sake of comparison, can say here food options were limited, but definitely enough to have a great time. Overall loved the experience.
  • Amazing trip and well organized the way floating trip has to be. We can see this backwater cruise is organized in tradditional way. Location so cool and the night is very romantically also the silence is incredible.food very local and very very tasty also very clean. Wake you guys by the birds in the morning that will feel you are sleeping in the nature ,its true manroe islands are the best natural islands in kerala. After lunch we go for two hours of cannoy trip throught the narrow canals of these area. We wont get this trip any other place in kerala apart from manroe . This is the best luxuary and clean houseboat in kerala.
