Kollam Beach, Kollam

Inspirock Rating:
1.9/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web
Take in panoramic vistas of the Arabian Sea at Kollam Beach, where a large stretch of golden sand adjoins a park dedicated to Gandhi. Situated near the city's port--one of the oldest and most important in the international cashew trade--the beach also lies close to ruined Dutch and Portuguese forts, reminders of their periods of rule here. Keep your eyes peeled for the Chinese fishing nets, water pots, and sampan-like boats in use here. Take a stroll or horseback ride, but stay out of the water--bathing here is quite dangerous. Our Kollam vacation trip planner makes visiting Kollam Beach and other Kollam attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • The beach is dirty and you can't swim because of undertow. All in all there is not much to doch/see in kollam apart from the backwater tours.
  • this beach is very clean as it is not very commercial. you can find small eateries around. the water is also very clean and it has huge waves.
  • Kollam beach is mainly renowned for the presence of many local fishermen who stay in the shacks built on the beach. The beach is just like any other but a tad too dirty.
