St. John's Church, Kolkata (Calcutta)

The church, first being a cathedral, was among the first objects commissioned by the East India Company, after Kolkata became the capital of British India. • Very well maintained church. I had visited this place in April 2017 and I liked this place for it's cleanliness and beauty. This place is a holy place for all of us. We should also contribute this place by keeping this place environment clean. Happy visiting to this place.
  • The Pipe organ is particularly unique feature of this church u can find the playing music on you tube .The church site takes you back in history. The memorial of Black hole incident was shifted from Williams fort to St John's Cathedral. The displays from bible tell their own story.
  • One of the oldest Churches at Kolkata. This place is well maintained. I don't remember a more peaceful place than this. One must visit this Church on a fine morning. The experience will be unforgettable. Job Charnock's mausoleum is situated at this place and so is Lady Canning's grave. One needs to get a ticket for Rs 10 to enter this place. Photography is allowed.
  • This is Kolkata's one of the oldest church. Huge praying area. Also, there is a copy of Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting The Last Supper at the left hand corner of the church hall. Except the church hall, there are more to see inside the St. John's Church premises. 1. Job Charnock Cemetery (The major attraction here) 2. Rohila War Monument 3. Black Hole Monument 4. Lord Brabourne Grave
