Millenium Park, Kolkata (Calcutta)
(3.8/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Take a stroll on the promenade of Millenium Park and let your worries go. The private grounds stand on the eastern side of the river stretching for around 2.5 km (1.5 mi). Enjoy a walk through the perfectly neat gardens given to the public by the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority back in 1999. Bring a picnic basket and kick back to enjoy the nature around you, or sit on the riverside benches and absorb the city landscape. Families will appreciate the playground area with arcade games for the children. Time your visit since the park is a hot spot for couples. • If there's one thing that changes to Calcutta and India for decades, is well its pollution, which is becoming more and more unbearable. So this joint space including a small walk, a few rides for children and places where young lovers will be able to hide from the envious glances. The entrance to this small park is 10 rupees to filter visitors but it is a good place to breathe!

  • It is a good place usually neat and weather is quite good good one thing there is that this is not the place you would like to take your kids to. All in all except it not being a family visiting site it is likeable to say the least.
  • Nice place. There are mainly two part of this park. You have to buy 10 rs ticket per person to enter in this park one side. And other side is free of cost. If you want to spend some good time then you may visit this park. Near B.B.D BAG railway station.

  • Millennium Park is a private park in Kolkata, situated along the Strand Road on eastern shore of Hooghly River for a stretch of 2.5 km near Fairlie Ghat and opposite to Railway Club. The park consists of landscaped gardens and children's amusement rides. It was opened along the riverside to provide a green area for Kolkata's polluted waterway. It is a millennium gift from Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA/CMDA) inaugurated on 26 December 1999. The park is part of the first phases of the Kolkata Riverside Beautification Project. The park is open from 11am-8pm.
