  • To visit this place at peak times in the morning (the guides often do visit in times of low traffic to not frighten off tourists!). The density of the crowd and the abundance of goods defy description. Experience extraordinary, typical of Kolkata.

  • If you go there early in the morning, you'll find so many flours that are coming and being sold and going to every direction of Kolkata. Though you will find flours all through the day but the best ti...  more »
  • The flower market in Calcutta opens soon and seeing it rise about six o'clock in the morning is worth a visit. Mountains of flowers for the devotions are sewn in yellow and orange garlands while the wrestlers in a temple are covered with Earth prior to the fight, children of all ages are sleeping in sleeping bags on the ground, among flowers and goods. And yet, on the sacred ablutions bathing ghat. Between calls to prayer, passages of goods, perfumes saturated with moods and teems with walkways and colors, Dawn indiana melts once life on the mystery.

  • This was one of the first places I had descended upon when I first got a digital camera. An amazing place for photography. The best tours are obviously the ones I lead ;-) Check Calcutta Photo Tours for details. Could be muddy and slushy in the monsoons so be aptly prepared.
  • Excellent collection of flowers. But I went there only to see the beauty of Howrah Bridge from bellow the Ganga Ghat, u can't forget it. But the road is dirty. Please wear good Shoes.
  •   A city with more than three hundred years of history is running with another 125 years old history. Those who live in Kolkata for long years or visit Kolkata for travel purpose, one place they must have seen, the Rabindra Setu (bridge). Is it sounded odd? In normal term it is called Hoogly Bridge or Howrah Bridge. Now you are comfortable enough with these normal terms I guess. Just below the Howrah Bridge on the banks of Hoogly River at Mallick Ghat a unique more than 125 years old flower market is held every morning. This is the largest wholesale flower market in eastern India. The Ghat was built by Ram Mohun Mallick (son of Nayan Chand) in the year 1855.
  • Asia's largest flower market. you’ll get all kind of flower from here. It's a little messy but It's awesome.
  • Biggest flower market in Kolkata. You will feel the old Kolkata over here.
