Categories: Architectural Buildings, Historic Sites, Tourist Spots
Admire a fine red colored colonial three story mansion with cream bordures and latticed guardrails and dark green louvers at Jorasanko Thakur Bari, the ancestral home of Tagore family. Built in 1785, the complex is now housing Rabindra Bharati University, and the main building in which Rabindranath Tagore, the poet and first non-European Nobel laureate, was born and where he died is turned into a museum. See a photo exhibition and personal belongings of Rabindranath as well as some of his paintings. Relax in a green inner courtyard of this large 35,000 sq m (376,737 sq ft) complex and see a Soviet-made bust of Tagore on a marble pedestal. This Google map is simply amazing . The place was captured by the long scenarios of trees and grasses . It looked like a new Horizon. It was that place where the Indian famous idol was born ,Rabindranath Tagore. It was also the place where Indian all-time artist , Abanindranath Tagore was born . It was a place ,not to see as well as to enjoy the beauty of chirpping of birds and the small but soft green grasses.
