4.2/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web
A grandiose white marble structure in Kolkata's busy neighborhood, Birla Temple offers a sanctuary from the city bustle. An interesting blend of modern design and traditional stone masonry, the temple features indigenous carvings, as well as two main statues of gods dedicated to Krishna and Radha. Built by the industrialist Birla family, its construction started in 1970 and took 26 years to complete. The landmark temple offers a spacious, cool respite, and is well-lit at night and during festival times.
