Commissioned in 1963, today it hosts an electronic laboratory for production of science equipment, an astronomy gallery with a large collection of paintings an celestial models, and an observatory equipped with a powerful telescope. Participate in more than 100 astronomical projects dealing with space sciences as well as astrology, with the capacity of 680 attendees. Programs are conducted in English, Bengali, and Hindi.   • In this planetarium, different show are displayed in different language. If you want to go, make sure about time of the show  more »

  • Best place in Kolkata for astronomy enthusiasts. The regularly organise shows in 6 different language. But it is also a great place for weekend hangout. Its also popular among locals and tourists.
  • Could have been lot better. Systems look backdated. The shows are informative, but the place isn't coping up with time.
  • What I think it is a wonderful place for both kids and adults. This place is good for education,as they teach one about the stars,galaxy.....
  • The Planetarium has been recently upgraded with latest digital projection system and a new star projector from Zeiss.The new Planetarium has not yet been opened to public.
  • Must visit here and know the heavenly bodies we are surrounded with ! Don't reach here too tired other wise you'll have half hour extra power nap just like i did !
