3.6/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web
Jutting out from the surrounding forest, Pillar Rocks create an imposing natural focal point amid an already dramatic landscape. The three giant rock pillars, around 122 m (400 ft) in height, rise out of a thick surrounding forest. The main viewpoint from which to see the rocks can get pretty busy, but definitely wait your turn to see them unobstructed. At such a great height, clouds regularly cover the pillars, but when they break through, the effect is all the more memorable. Using our custom trip planner, Kodaikanal attractions like Pillar Rocks can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • Very nice and calm locations, good scenic, beautiful view. Valley view is also nice, a must watch place in Kodai.
  • See it if you have a lot of time to spare.Nothing very distinct. Supposedly was much better earlier.
  • The spot is again on the same stretch where you come across Guna Cave. Parking is reasonably easy but has a lot monkeys roaming around the parking spots. Be careful of them. Once you pay a nominal entry fee of Rs. 5, you come to a viewing platform, which offers a valley view. As on most days, you will encounter mist in the valley which will limit the view. However, the good part is that the mist keeps on shifting because of constant wind and you might a brief window around which you get a clear and beautiful view. It is a scenic spot and one which should figure on you things to do in Kodai. There is also a small market around the parking spot where you can buy snacks, knick knacks , tea, coffee, chocolates etc.
  • Nice place with breathtakingly beautiful view of the valley below. However, most of the time the mist covers the rocks and hardly anything is visible. When it finally is, it's stupendous.
  • Very beautiful view. Take your binoculars if you have them, you can see some eagle nests in the crests and crevices. Also, the guna caves can be seen at the top of the pillars. Beautiful view..
  • very nice view of the valley and you can also see the the 2 pillar rocks standing and if u watch closely you can see the guna cave top portion and also a cross ...there is entrance ticket...
  • One of the most attractive point in the kodaikkanal area We can really enjoy the splendid beauty of the Nilgiri hills
