  • Went 7 times till love to go there really cool fresh place the lake situated in center of the city. Surrounded by beautiful walk way and parks. Used to wait 2 hours to get boat ticket. If you choose to ride Pedal boat avoid to go near fence area you may struck in mud.
  • (Go before 11am, else it gets crowded) The boating was refreshing. When mist covers the lake, boating through the mist with very less visibly was thrilling. The cold, the water, the fresh air, all together a wonderful experience
  • This lake is manmade in the Kodaikanal city, which adds to the beauty of this magnificent city. Wonderful place with boating facilities available attracts many tourists to this spot. Nice clean layout with lovely trees in the surroundings and with paved walkways on the sides of lake, really amazing.
  • The lake was crowded as it was right in the centre of the town. The water was blackish and smelling a little bit even when in winter. You have footpath encircling the lake where you can go out on a walk. There a boating service available which you can enjoy. Also, there are shops line up at the main entrance.
  • Love this place to the bits. It's awesome to cycle or walk around the lake especially in the evening.

Where to stay in Kodaikanal

Unsurprisingly, the most upmarket accommodations in Kodaikanal sit by the lake. Offering extensive views of the central water features and the hills rolling off into the horizon, the rooms in such establishments usually come with a nice set of amenities including onsite spas, restaurants, and pools. Shoestring travelers that want a central location can opt for simple hotels in the town center to the east, while those wanting to get out of town altogether will find a few scattered hotels along the main roads, as well as rental bungalows in secluded spots.
