  • The temple is set in a beautiful environment but not a place fir tourists particularly tourist in western outfits .The priest of temple won't allow you inside the main temple unless you are wearing Hindu traditional outfit.
  • Awsome temple
  • This place is the 'Moola' (en. tr. Root) temple for the Kodava community. The deity is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva. The temple contains a peripheral corridor that encircles an enclosure which contains an internal corridor and the sanctorum. The devotees are allowed only to the peripheral corridor, From where the 'darshana' can be obtained. The temple priests are very friendly and hospitable. The situation is extremely scenic with 'Madanda Abbe' water falls visible right from the temple rooms. There is accomodation for devotees who wish to perform 'thulabhara' ritual in the temple. Infact it is mandatory for the devotees to stay overnight in the temple to perform thulabhara. This place is connected by single lane roads to the Virajpet-Talacauvery road.
