  • Attraction: Religious temple for Tibetians Tourist Spot: Yes Open Hours: 7 AM to 5 PM Parking: Yes Buddha Temple - also known as Golden Temple, since much of the art work is done with Gold. One can do "darshan" of Lord Buddha in a peaceful manner while at this temple. I've been to this place with Intel's Top 50 Volunteers, one of the most enthusiastic and passionate teams. We enjoyed knowing about the local culture while embracing inner peace at the venue.
  • Truely mesmerasing place, try to avoid weekends here as it will be crowded. Very friendly monks, they even don't mind for a selfie. There is a lake in the vicinity which is very peaceful and would highly recommend to visit this monastery.
  • Bylakuppe has a Tibetan settlement. It is located to the west of Mysore district in state of Karnataka, which is roughly 80 km from Mysore city. Buddhist Golden temple (also called Namdroling Monastery) at Bylakuppe is a place worth visiting. This monastery or golden temple was established in the year of 1963, by His Holiness Pema Norbu Rinpoche shortly after his exit from Tibet in 1959 as the second seat of the Palyul Monastery which is one of the six great Tibet Nyingma Mother monasteries.
  • My uncle is living there and i visited there several time. It is very nice to know how people from two entire driffrent culture living together with harmony. they have their own schools, universities, factories (just like cattle feed factory), petrol pumps, farm, shops..etc in past, i saw saints coming to houses of locals to watch filims (as they are not suposed to do so) and paying for that. Indian police can't arrest any of them with out presenting him/her infront of their own judge. Once i saw tibetan activist ten sin sinthew from there and he told me that the area is always under the vigilance of RAW and IB. As per law, indian are not supposed to enter in their area after 8.00 PM. You can purchase imported productes from their market for reasonable price. they creats divine atmoshere in their temple by reading holy book and perfoming other holy activities. Peoples are friendly. architecture and lighting inside the temple is unique. Most of their house holdes are decorated by diffrent colours of cloth pieces. You can see a small tibet inside india there.
  • Great peaceful atmosphere. Parking Available. No entry fees. You can get feel of Tibetian Culture.
