  • Indo-Portuguese museum in Fort Kochi is small, but not expensive (25 rupees for a foreigner). It doesn't take long to visit (30 minutes at most), but it's worth visiting to see some historical pieces ...  more »

  • Interesting but very Catholic religion based and minimal historical information. No photography is permitted. Quite hot inside and no air circulation so we were uncomfortable. If you're into religious relics then you may find it a bit interesting but otherwise I'd give this a miss.
  • With limited number of museums and sights in Fort Cochi, it seems like one of the must, but contrary to the name it is more like a church artefacts showroom. Basement has excavated fort wall, but it was partially flooded even though there has not been raining for some time. They won't let you photograph inside, but t the only person working there seemed very nice.
  • I like to see the details of Museum tomorrow. I found beautiful tree there. It was just amazing.
  • A good collection of artifacts of the Portuguese period of Kochin. As is the case with many museums inadequacy of information about the exhibits is frustrating. When will the curators learn to make the displays interesting to a lay person?
  • Please please do not go here if you are a woman travelling alone. Joseph, the manager, is incredibly charming (and to be honest does give a good tour) but inappropriately touched me multiple times. There were various 'tricks' he used to get close to me and I then found out later that evening through chatting with another lone female traveller that she had the exact same experiences which made it feel very manipulative. Joseph has a wife and children and I am sad to think that he has gotten away with this for so long. It's very concerning because it demonstrates it's not just the dark alleys we need to be afraid of. There is one another review from a female traveller back in 2015 which cites a very similar experience, but I'm worried that many other women don't leave a review/doubt that a line was even crossed because he is so scarily charming and tries to mask his touching as 'overexcitement' at having a new 'friend'. Please please be careful.
