Fort Kochi Beach, Kochi (Cochin)

2.8
Relax in a tranquil and pristine setting of Fort Kochi Beach, where you can observe the so-called Chinese fishing nets, attached to the shore and standing 10 m (33 ft) high and 20 m (66 ft) across. Stroll along the shoreline to reach Fort Kochi, home to one of the oldest churches built by Europeans in India. After cooling off in the water, grab something to eat at one of the many nearby restaurants serving fresh seafood. Take part in one of the many festivals that occur here throughout the year, or look out for dolphins while swimming in the sea. • Whilst agreeing that Fort Cochin is a quaint and peaceful place to visit, with lovely homestays of all kinds and great places to eat, please don’t get the impression that it is somewhere to spend time...  more »

  • Good place to hang out but too crowded now a days you can definitely have fun if you know how to. Don't expect to sit & chill because there is no spare spot especially on weekends. Still you can go to nearby places like church etc . Overall a good place to spend time
  • Nice place. You can see Kochi port and many shops. You can take the walk way and reach Mahatma Gandhi beach and take a ferry ride. But the beach is dirty and has rocks so you can't take bath or stand in water
  • Good approach to view the beach. Getting into sea is not very easy. Good parking and jogging track available. Nice for a morning jog.
  • It is a very known beach in Kochi. But when I went, I couldn't see anything worth-watching, instead, there was only garbage and polybags around the shore. I don't recommend fort Kochi beach. But practising like Chinese Fishing Nets is very popular and one can watch the working of such techniques.
  • Beach needs to be cleaned up. There are many good places to visit around such as Dutch palace, market, church. But the beach isn't clean.

Where to stay in Kochi (Cochin)

Kochi offers abundant hospitality options, including a dense collection of international five-star hotels. Travelers on a budget can explore the selection of modest but impeccable homestays and guesthouses in the quieter neighborhoods just outside the central tourist area of Fort Cochin; these make great places to meet local hosts and fellow travelers.
