The temple has high culture historical status. It is made on the World Heritage list by the United Nations Educational, scientific and cultural organisation, Unesco, has prepared. Khajuraho is located far out on the dry plains of the Indian State of Madhya Pradesh, good 600 kilometers southeast of the capital, Delhi. For 1000 years ago, the small town a pilgrimage site during the Chandela Rajput dynasty. Today a quiet place with only a little over 6000 inhabitants in the populous India is a hole in the ground. A sleepy place, with one wakes up, when a bus with tourists and their money purses past. Khajuraho-the temple's outer walls are embellished with scenes that are so bad that more female spectators take the hands of the eyes. In order to spare the culture historically interested readers are sorted here in the worst scenes from the text. Here are the old Indians really blossomed. "the decorations is quite unique," as one can read in a guidebook to the site. In the aforementioned ' Bubber-Chamber ' found, among other things, a scene with two men who take themselves a little too lovingly by a horse. One man from the front, the second man from the rear. What the deeper meaning has been with this little sculpture in the temple wall has various reference works on the site have been unable to give any satisfactory answer. In any case, shows the small sculptures, which runs in long friezes on the temple's exterior walls, to the Indians in the past have had a very relaxed compared to the image of sex-scenes and naked bodies. Fertility is illustrated, inter alia through the women's even quite plump breasts, and imaginative sentence moves far beyond the standard missionary position. A place looking for example a gentleman who stands on her head, while the woman over him is held up by two, incidentally, well-made women whose steps are affected by the man who stands on his head. Another place of romps with two men, a woman and another woman puts his hands on the eyes. Also, we must otherwise enough savings or cheat the readers for more details. Among all the many beautiful temples in India is with impressive carvings and small sculptures, draws many curious travelers, and the Khajuraho would be lying if they said that it was not the highly erotic scenes that had led them to take the big detour to This pretty Godforsaken place in the vast country. Khajuraho was one of the capitals of the Kings of the Chandela dynasty, from the 9. for the 11. century developed a large Kingdom in northern India. At its peak stretched the Kingdom over the territory which today makes up the province of Madhya Pradesh-an area that is almost as big as Germany. Khajuraho Temple extended over a large area and had 21 square kilometers, while the site was at its highest, 85 temples built by various rulers from about 950 to the year 1050. In the second half of the 11th century. century Chandela dynasty came into a turbulent period of decay, and the Kingdom of the Netherlands had to move the capital to a ridge that afforded better protection against enemies from the outside. Kharjuraho Temple forstatte, however, with having a great religious significance until the 14th century. century, but then became a city and temple buildings left and went into disrepair. Seen with art and religious historical spectacles, it was fortunate that the town was so remote. Since the Muslim conquerors rode across Northern India, they destroyed all the Hindu and Buddhist edifices, they came near, but Khajuraho reached the never to discover. First in 1838 was Temple rediscovered by a British officer that was challenged on all his British Puritanism. Of the original 85 temple buildings are 20 still well preserved. The temple complex was built in sandstone and is decorated with beautiful shapes inside as outside. The motives are mainly sexual and erotic, and the most beautiful of all temples, Kandariya Mahadeva, is 31 meters high with decorations in absolute world class. The most erotic of temple buildings called popular for ' Kamasutra Temple ', named after the famous Indian textbook on love art. This book recounts embrace and Kiss, nail marks and kærlighedsbid and detailed descriptions of sexual positions, courtship and marriage, the art of seduction and the then highly-reputed prostitutes. Experts believe, however, that the erotic scenes illlustrerer the virile and powerful rulers in the Chandela Rajput dynasty. The temple walls are not only filled with eroticism, but with the joy of life in General, and the intention of all this joy of life must have been taking the worst anger from the evil powers. Evil should, so to speak, softened with the good. Here are mild women who wash their hair, dancing, play games or put make-up on his face. Here also played music, and who enjoyed lavish meals. What a lot of work, it has been cutting everything out. We are quite impressed.

Entire Khajuraho is divided into group of temples with biggest and move visited being Western group of temples. Other groups are far and scattered and hence really few tourist can be seen. Most reasonable options is to hire an auto to take you around to visit all of the temples which can be easily covered in a day. The temple grounds are neat, clean and visitor friendly. It is a group of temples situated in a closed boundary and is called southern group of temples. Depicting an old form of temple art, these temples are a gem of Indian art and culture. A leisure stroll in the open area alongwith fabulous sculpturing renders this place a must for art lovers. Unnecessary hassling by the guides can be avoided by downloading the app provided by the government which narrates the temple details without money bargaining. In the evening there is a sound and music show near the temples. As per my experience, it should be enjoyed first and then next morning the temples should be visited. This makes the experience more rich, enjoyable and also you understand the background culture better.  Khajuraho group of monuments is a UNESCO world heritage site and is well know for the its stunning architecture. The monuments are situated in Khajuraho town in Chatharpur district of Madhya pradhesh. There are basically 3 sets of temples which are the Western group which are the biggest, the eastern group and the Southern group.  The symmetry and geometry of the temples are stunning. The depiction of sexual art on the walls of temples are unbelievable specially when we think these were built about thousand years ago. The images at Khajuraho temples are a matter of great research for art historians and main source of attraction worldwide. The erotic sculptures at the Khajuraho temples are of different significance to different people.  Each temple at Khajuraho stands on a high platform with a distinctive upward direction to their structure. The Western group of temples lies in the center of green meadow and kaleidoscopic flowerbeds. This group of temples is included in World Heritage site and showcases one of the most remarkable sculptures of Khajuraho. The most notable among these temples are the Jagadambi temple, the Kandariya Mahadeva temple and the Chitragupta temple. The temple of Lord Vishnu built by Yasovarman is also known an important temple.  Of the southern group of temples the Duladeo and the Chaturbhuja temples are very famous. The Duladeo temple, built in1100-1150A.D. is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is situated 1km. south of the Khajuraho village. The Chaturbhuja temple, 3km from the town is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

Where to stay in Khajuraho

The worldwide fame of the Khajuraho temples has given rise to a vibrant tourist industry; consequently, this relatively small town offers a range of accommodation facilities. Most hotels concentrate along the airport road and main temple road, varying from luxury international chains to low budget lodgings. Five-star deluxe outlets with spas, pools, landscape gardens, and views of temples tend to lie closer to the airport, while economy accommodations surround the eastern group of temples and follow the Khudar River. Some family-friendly, affordable establishments have good views of the temples, and a few of the mid-range hotels feature lovely rooftop restaurants.
