  • Beautiful place, awesome atmosphere, Try to go there in the early morning or in the evening. You can see hills sorrounded by thick fog. Best time to visit is Jun~Dec. Rooms are available for night stay also, but it need advanced booking.
  • Ponmudi is a suitable hillstation for a weekend getaway.. I used to visit Ponmudi hills almost every year. Better chose a post monsoon season or December.. If the climate is favourable, one can feel the cold fresh air blends with mist and verdant greenery.. The topmost point, popularly known as the Upper Sanatorium, is famous for the views around and provides ample scope for light to moderate trekking. During my two visits with family in 2016, the icing on the cake was the memorable stay at the Golden Peak Resort, run by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC). It'worth staying there with natural greenery and wilderness around. We had a light morning walk through the awe inspiring nature. Better dont miss Kallar and Golden Valley on the way uphill. There is a trekkking path to Ponmudi from near by estate area named Braemore. One will get permission for this 10 km trek through the shola forests, from the Forest Department Authorities.. For lunch, there are the restaurants of the KTDC and the Government Guest House. Both the restaurants are good. The Guest House Restaurant is more economical. The cafeteria in the Upper Sanatorium area functions everyday till 5.30 pm. Better carry enough water with you
  • Beautiful place, with such an ambience.. Switch off your mobiles, log out from the online world, bring in your family , spend some time and enjoy the day like never before!!!!
  • Ponmudi (the Golden Peak) is a hill station in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala in India. Its located 61 km north-east of Trivandrum city at an altitude of 1100 m. It is a part of the Western Ghats mountain range that runs parallel to the Arabian Sea. Ponmudi is blessed with scenic splendor and natural beauty, Ponmudi has a carpet of thick tropical forest that rolls down to the foot of the hill range. No doubt, the salubrious atmosphere and the twisted trails across clear streams must have contributed to her health. Kallar situated en route to the popular hill station of Ponmudi, Kallar gets its name from the River Kallar, which flows through the region. Kallu means 'stone' and Aru means 'river', hence the name Kallar. The river is well known for its abundance of attractive, round-shaped boulders and pebbles, especially in the upper reaches and middle portion of its course. Here one can take a dip in the crystal clear waters to cool off, and also watch the many rapids and small pools that dot a good part of the river in this area. Menmutty Falls is one of the main attraction located near by Ponmudi hills and is around 45 km from Thiruvananthapuram city. This waterfall is about 3 km away from the Kallar-Ponmudi road. The main attractions are water falls and the small natural pools and rocks located beside the way to the water fall. In order to reach the place, one has to take a long trek that passes through dense forests, upon taking special permission from the Forest Department. A guide will be sent along with tourist groups to the falls. Facilities for trekking are easily provided at Kallar Vana Samrakshana Samithi, which is a forest protection group at Kallar. See Freshwater Springs of the river Kallar. A deer park is there at the mountain top. Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary Lion Safari & Deer Park Aranmula water carnival Golden Valley Agasthiya Biological Park Ponmudi Crest Meenmutti falls lies close to the place.
