Christ Church, Kasauli
Categories: Churches, Tourist Spots
Established by the British Raj in 1853, the mystical halls of Christ Church offer a glimpse into Indian Christianity. The Gothic structure amid chestnut and fir groves has an old European feel, but the warm tropical climate makes it seem exotic and otherworldly. Upon arrival, you must first pass through a vast serene courtyard where you can observe the church's tilted green-tiled roof and the simple beige walls. Inside, the stained glass windows depict Jesus, Mary, and other Christian figures as you enter the threshold. Besides crowded Sunday masses, the church also hosts weddings and other festive, atmospheric occasions.
