Bekal Fort, Kasaragod

(4.4/5 based on 380+ reviews on the web)
Admire Kerala's largest fortress, Bekal Fort. Built in the 17th century and situated near Kasarogod, the stronghold overlooks the Arabian Sea. Take a relaxing walk along the well-maintained fort walls and through the lush green gardens--which have served as the filming location of numerous Indian movies, music videos, and commercials. Gaze upon the vast sea from one of the imposing observation towers, or descend below the stone walls to the small, picturesque beach and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. • It is a good place to spend your time if you wanna go when you are on the way. Visiting this place is not worth the time spent on travel, its a good place.
  • Bekal fort is one of the top most tourist places in Kerala. It's a must visit place if you been in Kasaragod. Well maintained and beautiful surroundings. A fort facing the Arabian sea. Waves hugging the rocks......... It's superb. Sunset from beach and fort side is a good view. The long walls with the curving beach makes for a beautiful view. At different corners along the wall of the fort, good pictures can be clicked with backdrop of the sea or that of coconut trees.
  • Bakel fort is one among the places where you'd definitely wanna visit in Kerala. Also it's one of the major tourist attractions of Kasaragod district. It's a ticketed monument under the archaeological survey of India and the entry fee is Rs. 5 per person for the citizens of India and of SAARC countries. It's preferable to visit here during the monsoon season. And it's better to go in the afternoon since you will be able to watch the evening seaside beauty. One can easily reach here by public transportation including public buses and/or by train. A few local passenger trains stop at the Bakel Fort station. A few downsides include non availability of good local food options and good toilet facilities in the area. But the place is worth a visit. :)
  • Amazing and a clean place. Must visit during the monsoon time. The views from the bottom most place near the sea is alone worth an entire trip. No food/eateries nearby. Have ample amount of parking space. Better carry an umbrella, it will be helpful both under sun and rain.
  • Good place for kids and its all improved from years. 15 for car and 10 for a person. Good place for a vacation. Not better the goa New amusement park, horrer land, pets park ( zoo like :-D ) and KITES for sale that DOES NOT FLY does not...!, wasting money on that and lots more.,.,.,!,*÷£&$,, [[[[{{{HAPPY JOURNEY}}}]]]]
