See the second tallest statue of Shiva and the tallest gopuram (temple tower) on earth at Murudeshwara Temple. Pass the two lifelike elephant statues that guard the entrance and climb the long flight of stairs to reach the idol. The bottom of the hill houses the holiest part of the complex--the Rameshwar lingam, which is said to be a piece of the original Atma-Linga.
