Observation Deck
From Lakkidi View Point, behold the fantastic sight of the high mountain peaks, green valley, lakes, winding roads, and rainforest. You will need a car to reach this attraction, which sits just off the highway and offers little besides photo opportunities and the chance to admire the view. Try to visit on a clear day for the best experience and photography results, as rainy days tend to drop fog across most of the landscape. • If you are visiting Wayanad, don't give this view point a miss. Traveling from Bangalore (300 km) you do not realize that rubric the entire journey, you are actually on the Deccan plateau. Only when you reach this view point, you discover that there is a world 3200 ft beneath you and a horizon that meets the sea. Study the topography of the region in advance to understand how the plateau actually merges with the Western Ghats range and rolls down to the planes of breathtakingly green Kerala and its coastline and the beaches. Visitors tend to litter the area with plastics, which is s pity .
  • Brilliant view! The only problem is the parking. There is no dedicated parking space as such. You will have to park by the side of the road. Finding a spot is task since all the passer by vehicles usually stop by to take pictures, hence pretty crowded too.
  • It was good view point. Had limited parking space. Went around January, almost for sun set. It was treat to watch. Beware of rash driving by buses
  • Very nice view. You will just wonder when you see the roads down. Best place to stop and relax when you are on self long drive. Similar to chirapunji's climate when the fog is too much.
  • This place is awesome. The view from the roadside is like a eagle view. You will feel like you are in the clouds.
