Guarded by a huge 20 m (66 ft) high entrance gate, the fort features 101 separate bastions each of them over 12 m (40 ft) tall. Two fort houses two exquisitely carved temples build in 15th-16th century and a later huge Friday prayer mosque with elegant pointed arches built next to a large granary with vaulted roof. Check out a canon in the yard and an impressive and graceful Pigeon Tower with fretted windows. Enjoy view of a grand canyon carved deep by the river from seen from the walls. This is a beautiful fort which dates back to 13th century. But I felt it could have been maintained better. Not tourist friendly. But worth a visit if you are planning for Gandikota.
