  • A huge place now mostly a hotel. The museum is in one small part of the side wing of the palace Worth a visit but if you are short of time in the city make sure you go to the other sites before making...  more »
  • Umaid Bhawan Palace is one of the finest palaces in India. Very well maintained. It takes you back to India before Independence. So many pictures and antiques. Good collection of cars.  more »
  • Although a magnificent building, there is not a great deal to see. With the majority of space taken up by an hotel complex and Marahajas quarters. An hour at the most is all it takes.  more »

  • Only 5 rooms for general public..which is a bit underwhelming. Rest is hotel and personal use for king there. The hotel is one of top 10 in the world. That good! Palace looks great from outside.
  • The architecture of the palace is awesome. It gives the feel how ancient Kings use you to stay royally in palace. The museum part displays things used by Kings and his family's. The place is must visit if you happen to visit jodhpur.
  • The palace is very beautiful and new. But only part of palace is open for public. More than half is converted to hotel acquired by Taj Group and adequate portion for the king himself.
  • I didn't stay in this hotel and could one visit as a site. As a visitor, not a hotel guest your entrance is very limited. You can read all about the hotel construction and sponsorship, but see none of it. This was a waste of time. The description did leave me wanting to see more, it's definitely luxurious. Next time, I'll try to book at least a night or dinner, so I can see more.
  • No doubt why it is rated as worlds best Hotel..this palace and museum are best maintained. .The architecture is just awesome. The vintage car collection is also good. The RollsRoyce is a gigantic car.

Where to stay in Jodhpur

Blue-tinted Jodhpur contains a vast array of accommodations to suit the varied tastes and budgets of its many visitors. Truly luxurious options sit in secluded spots overlooking the city proper, offering extensive facilities, such as pools, spas, and fine-dining restaurants. The city's spacious southerly district houses many standard-to-upmarket hotels, with the surrounding streets spread out and relatively calm. In the north of the city things get livelier, with dozens of little guesthouses and hostels lining the narrow streets, residential roads, and teeming bazaars.
