Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, Jodhpur

4.2
#2 of 12 in Parks in Jodhpur
Nature / Park
Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park represents part of an attempt to restore the city's ecology and plants native to rocky environments. Volcanic rock surrounds the area where a thorny weed shrub, baavlia, once wreaked environmental havoc; after years of efforts by the Khandwaliya miners, the weed-free park now opens its doors to all visitors. See the collection of native plants adapted to arid areas of the Thar Desert, and visit the nursery to learn about techniques used to grow plant life in such difficult terrains. Careful not to walk off the designated paths, so as to protect the fragile vegetation here. Where to stay in Jodhpur

Blue-tinted Jodhpur contains a vast array of accommodations to suit the varied tastes and budgets of its many visitors. Truly luxurious options sit in secluded spots overlooking the city proper, offering extensive facilities, such as pools, spas, and fine-dining restaurants. The city's spacious southerly district houses many standard-to-upmarket hotels, with the surrounding streets spread out and relatively calm. In the north of the city things get livelier, with dozens of little guesthouses and hostels lining the narrow streets, residential roads, and teeming bazaars.

  • At 100 rupees admission fee for both Indians and foreigners (yay!) you can't go wrong here. A peaceful, well kept and very clean garden where you feel comfortable. We went when the sun was at its hottest so we could only do the Yellow Path as the others weren't shady enough so I would recommend you come in the early morning or after you've had your lunch. Bring plenty of water and a rucksack to put your empty bottles in so you can enjoy this to the max :)
  • This is a must go place. I had been there with friends. Do carry water and juices. They will provide you with a map or you can also hire a guide. An awesome place for nature lovers!👍👍👍👍
  • Hidden gem in Jodhpur. Walking through this place gives you an idea of what Rajasthan is all about. It's the first place to visit in India's dessert state. Endemic flora and fauna of this place welcomes you!
  • If you ask me...I will say it is a place worth to visit. I went there many a times that I know every nook and corner of it. A place where you can make documentary. Trekking + sunset point + photography hotspots + old rocks + lake + scenery + various flora and aves.
  • Nice place to visit.. n best place for photoshoot
