Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, Jodhpur
(4.1/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park represents part of an attempt to restore the city's ecology and plants native to rocky environments. Volcanic rock surrounds the area where a thorny weed shrub, baavlia, once wreaked environmental havoc; after years of efforts by the Khandwaliya miners, the weed-free park now opens its doors to all visitors. See the collection of native plants adapted to arid areas of the Thar Desert, and visit the nursery to learn about techniques used to grow plant life in such difficult terrains. Careful not to walk off the designated paths, so as to protect the fragile vegetation here. • The place is just near the Mehrangarh fort. The park is well maintained and having the great diversity of Indian desert flora. visiting this park is total value for money and time that you will found rocky desert and a different class of plants like cactus and bushes, desert grasses that have great value for medicinal purposes.
  • Nice and attractive place one shuld visit once Near from fort mehranghad Also trackers can go
  • Good view of nature, perfect place for adventure lovers and treasure hunters but be sure you have good amount of drinkable water with you when you are going there.
  • If you love trekking/want to try out trekking, this is the place to be in Jodhpur. It's an ecological park with rich diversity of plants and animals adapted to the harsh climate of the desert. Consists of four trails marked out in different colors, each about a km long. Staff provides a map at the exam entrance with the trails marked out. Also they have phone numbers to guide in you in case you lose your way (but that's highly unlikely, if you stick to your trails). Facility of a naturalist to guide you is available - recommended if you can shell out a nominal amount. Do wear sports shoes, carry drinking water and sun tan for your hike. Caps and goggles are recommended. Added advantage : You can enjoy the beautiful view of the Mehrangarh fort on your hike. Must visit place in Jodhpur. Preferred time is morning hours.
  • Awesome place lot of fun city love
