Built on a huge rock in the middle of Kosi River, Garjiya Devi Temple attracts thousands of devotees, offering awe-inspiring views of cliffs and the river from this its island. Set in the oldest national park in India, this Shakti shrine features a black granite statue of Lakshmi Narayan dating from the 9th century and a 1.5 m (4.5 ft) high statue of Garjiya Devi, the presiding deity. The longest-established national park in India, Jim Corbett National Park has a number of places to stay, either within the boundaries of the park itself, or just outside. A few guesthouses lie tucked in remote jungle locations, where advance reservations are a must. Alternatively, campgrounds provide a more budget-friendly, back-to-basics experience. Beyond that, highway 309 running north-southeast of the park has a number of resorts, hotels, and guesthouses.

  • Very soothing place usually crowded ..with river, rocs, mountain,bridge,temple.... if you going to enter in river for or photos stone in river are very slippery & though the river is shallow but current very fast !!! So be careful. Garjiya Devi Temple is a noted Devi temple located in the Garjiya village near Ramnagar, Uttarakhand.It is a sacred Shakti shrine where Garjiya Devi is the presiding deity. a calm n quiet place to worship with beautiful surrounding.

  • This historical temple lies in ramnagar - ranikhet route. one has to go 1km off the main road to reach this site. mostly crowded on weekends with queues going beyond imagination. it also has a cave based bhairo temple at the bottom of main complex.
