  • Many travelers believe to know all temples of India basically, if you have seen some. This is surely wrong. The relatively small Chandrabhaga Temple holds many small details that reveal those, who stay without a hurry there. I was lucky enough to be there during the year and to watch thousands of pilgrims during their sacrificial acts. Friendly people without fear of cameras, bathing men (the wife of bath may be visited only by women) and boys, flowers, candles and drum music, smoke and holy men, all in all a picture that remains in memory.

  • A centuries old temple complex situated in Jhalrapatan. Though, the plaques inside the complex read "Our heritage is our glory" and things like it, there are no descriptions about the temple, its construction, its history or the like. The temple has intricately carved pillars and ceilings, which make it worth visiting. Also, look out for no one. It was totally empty when I visited. Would have given it 5 stars, if it had any sort of description about itself. Do visit for the architecture and the serenity.
  • Chandrabhaga Fair Located in southeastern Rajasthan it is one of the princely states. It is an ancient and heritage town, which still has retained its old world charm. The place originally belonged to the Jhala clan of Rajputs. It is visited by a number of tourists, who wish to experience and enjoy the rural feel. The Chandrabahga Fair Jhalawar is pretty famous. As the fair is organized in the month of October and November, you have to visit it at this point of time. You can plan your trip a bit early, so that you can be present there during the fair. Chandrabhaga fair Jhalawar is held in Jhalrapatan, which is six kilometer away from Jhalwar. River Chadrabhaga flows beside and people take a holy dip in the river. This fair is held in the auspicious day of “kartik purnima”, when thousands of pilgrims take a dip in the water. The holy dip in the water is generally taken in the last day of the kartik. This holy dip is known as “Chandravati” by the common people.
