Salim Singh-ki Haveli, Jaisalmer

Categories: Architectural Buildings, Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
2.5/5 based on 180+ reviews on the web
Observe the distinct 19th-century architecture of Salim Singh-ki Haveli, and uncover the structure's somewhat obscure history. Upon entrance, two sandstone bull elephants guard the gateway, as they do at the city's other havelis (mansions). Examine the haveli's exterior and roof constructed in the form of a peacock, while its 38 balconies each bear a unique design. In the museum, inspect the artifacts and collected historical data, or hire a guide to receive a detailed lesson about the entire compound. If you want to avoid dense and slow traffic, take a rickshaw ride to reach the site. See Salim Singh-ki Haveli and all Jaisalmer has to offer by arranging your trip with our Jaisalmer vacation builder.

  • such a beautiful example of architecture. I hope Rajashthan govt pay more attention to cleanliness and maintenance of these magnificent buildings.

  • 1)Wastage of Money. 2)Wastage of Time. 3)Nothing to see. 4)It looks good from outside, like other houses in Jaisalmer. 5)It's my Free Advice, Don't go there. PLEASE.
  • The Salim Singh Havelli is beautiful on the outside and the inside like almost every other building in Jaisalmer. The only special things about it is how old it is and the Prime minister of Jaisalmer lived there. The guide Raju is a total tool. I'm a photographer and paid to bring in my camera and was told very roughly that my taking of pictures was disrupting his less than enthusiastic explanations. I give this place a....... MEH!!
  • This is Worst palace in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India. Nothing to see here. You can see so many havelleys like this, even hotels also. The behavior of the guides in this place are sooo disgusting. You can go there, if you want to take a toilet. Don't waste your time.
  • The guide here should be trained regarding how to speak to tourists. Don't you dare ask a question or take a photo during his one man show or you'll be met with a surly comment that such things "interrupt the flow of his explanation. "
  • Nice stone work...
