Salim Singh-ki Haveli, Jaisalmer

(2.6/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Observe the distinct 19th-century architecture of Salim Singh-ki Haveli, and uncover the structure's somewhat obscure history. Upon entrance, two sandstone bull elephants guard the gateway, as they do at the city's other havelis (mansions). Examine the haveli's exterior and roof constructed in the form of a peacock, while its 38 balconies each bear a unique design. In the museum, inspect the artifacts and collected historical data, or hire a guide to receive a detailed lesson about the entire compound. If you want to avoid dense and slow traffic, take a rickshaw ride to reach the site. See Salim Singh-ki Haveli and all Jaisalmer has to offer by arranging your trip with our Jaisalmer vacation builder.

  • Definitely a worth to go along. It will cost you 30 rps p. p and then you get a guide. Very interesting to get a look in how they used lived in Jaisalmer and what this building for a function.

  • It was now not a highlight for me. Would also not here come around to look at me - if I had not been traveling with a group. But if you like architecture in this direction...

  • The guy running the place was at first friendly and kind when we entered. We were charged 50 rupees each for tickets, i had expected to wander around the haveli freely as in others within Jaisalmer. I...  more »

  • I enjoyed a lot visiting this building, more than the Patwon Ki Haveli. Entrance fee is cheap, and Mr Rajju gave so good explanations that made me feel the place was coming to life. This place is a hidden treasure from tipical turistic circuit.
  • Jaisalmer city former President place. Now living family 👪 here. Nice old Heritage but condition of building 🏢 not Good. Open for visiting, but knowing this place history from outside is perfect 👌 not need to entrance.
  • It was ok, enough to just see the outside. going inside will set you back a 100rs.
  • The Salim Singh Havelli is beautiful on the outside and the inside like almost every other building in Jaisalmer. The only special things about it is how old it is and the Prime minister of Jaisalmer lived there. The guide Raju is a total tool. I'm a photographer and paid to bring in my camera and was told very roughly that my taking of pictures was disrupting his less than enthusiastic explanations. I give this place a....... MEH!!
  • 1)Wastage of Money. 2)Wastage of Time. 3)Nothing to see. 4)It looks good from outside, like other houses in Jaisalmer. 5)It's my Free Advice, Don't go there. PLEASE.
