Mandir Palace, Jaisalmer

3.4
#8 of 18 in Historic Sites in Jaisalmer
Mandir Palace (Temple Palace) is an exquisitely carved architectural marvel of ornate balconies, canopies and delicately carved screens that represent a high point of local craftsmanship in its finest and purest form. The imposing beauty of the Palace is over two centuries old when the temples of Lord Rama and Lord Girdhariji (another name of Lord Krishna) were built and subsequently the Palace complex around the temples.

One of the most beautiful portions of the Palace was built during the reign of Maharawal Jawahir Singhji in the beginning of the twentieth century. A noticeable feature of Mandir Palace is its tower also referred to as the ‘Badal Vilas’, which stands out as the tallest structure below the hill-top city fort.

  • Must visit restaurant if you visit jaisalmer. Good ambience. Good food. Courteous staff.
  • A great palce to see. The construction is too good. The small details. Much better than Jaisalmer fort.
  • Wonderful setting in a beautiful city. Food in the rooftop restaurant was better than expected, and the view was excellent. Pool and amenities are great.
