  • The foundation stone was laid in 1876 and opened for public in 1887 as a Museum which is presently a State Museum. It was designed by Sir SS Jacob and was assisted by Tajammul Hussain. It is situated close to the Ram Niwas Garden who was interested to be a Town Hall but his son Macho Singh II, decided to be a Museum as he was an art and crafts lover. It's named Albert Hall after the visit of King Edward VII. It is a magnificent building of Indo Sara scenic Architecture. Many rare items are displayed in this Museum.
  • The experience starts from outside itself. The Museum is located in the centre of a colonial roundabout. Grand on the outside & beautiful architecture. Take a few moments to walk around the building and watch the birds flying around in big flocks and patterns. Guide: An audio guide is available at the ticket counter with a map to accompany it. But the Route inside has been changed and therefore it may be slightly difficult to find the correct route as per the sequence on the guide/map. Advice: It's best you walk around and listen to whichever location you come across instead of trying to find the route/sequence. Saves you time and eventually you discover it all anyways. BEST: Do not miss the exquisite pottery collection from all across Asia, the miniature greek sculpture collection & especially the dioramas of Sadhus (Meditating Saints), Yogis (Sadhus in Yoga positions) & the occupational cults of India on Level 01.
  • One of the most amazing thing of jaipur (rajasthan). I see many museum but this one is fabulous. I want to go one more time here. I must say this is amazing architecture piece of Rajasthan. This is historical place with full of art and many years old equipments. this is like a tourist place. come with family or friend or both for enjoying a lot. iI made so many fun with my younger brothers. we take so many selfies and pics. I never forget that moment and this place also. I really love with every brick of this museum.
  • Very amazing place to visit. Information was systematic and precise. One of the best museums I've visited. Mummy was most interesting with X-rays provided! 😁
