Religious Site Tourist Spot
Wander around the unusual temple of Kanch Mandir. Built by prominent trader Sir Seth Hukumchand in the early 20th century, the structure's facade resembles a medieval mansion house. Step inside to discover walls, floors, and ceilings covered with glass panels and mosaics, to dazzling effect. You'll have to commit it all to memory, however, since photography is technically prohibited within the temple's glass walls. Put Kanch Mandir and other Indore attractions into our Indore trip itinerary maker, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • It's an awesome experience.. a unique mix of ultimate luxury, architecture, technique, and symbolism. However it needs a lot of maintenance.. there was dirt and at few places the glasses were dull , maybe covered with dirt. It doesn't require huge cost in maintenance and restoration. If Right pitch made, the money can be forthcoming incl from the undersigned.. hope this is taken with a positive bias ... amazing work... hats off to the founders..
  • Literally Temple of Glass, it is an unique 100 years old Jain temple in Indore located on a busy street . Floors, pillars, paintings all made of kaanch [ glass ] amaze you no end. You can easily spend 30-45 minutes going around the temple and sitting for a while meditating . Clicking pictures inside the temple is strictly prohibited . Admission timings : 10 AM - 5 PM . However , people practising Jain religion can go even later . NOT TO BE MISSED .
  • A 108 years old Temple maintained so beautifully. If you can accompany a jain priest or devotee, you can get the details of intricate glass work done on the walls and terrace of the temple.
