Kanch Mandir, Indore
Categories: Sacred & Religious Sites, Tourist Spots
Wander around the unusual temple of Kanch Mandir. Built by prominent trader Sir Seth Hukumchand in the early 20th century, the structure's facade resembles a medieval mansion house. Step inside to discover walls, floors, and ceilings covered with glass panels and mosaics, to dazzling effect. You'll have to commit it all to memory, however, since photography is technically prohibited within the temple's glass walls. Put Kanch Mandir and other Indore attractions into our Indore trip itinerary maker, and watch your holiday take shape.

The Jain temple is built with mirror pieces. The floor has many cracked and broken mirror pieces which can cause cuts under your feet if you are not careful.
This temple is a true jewel. Unfortunately, although the owners are finding its upkeep a challenge, do not miss a visit and plan a few hours of craning your neck as you try to absorb the work on the ceiling as well.
