Visit Idukki Dam, one of the best engineered and highest arch dams in Asia. The dam, 169 m (554 ft) high and 366 m (1200 ft) wide, rises over the Periyar river. Take a walk over the dam and enjoy the wonderous view of the two mountains and the valley. You can take a 15 min boat ride in its waters as well. Make sure to come on weekends and holidays, since it is open only then. Cameras and phones are not allowed inside.   • It's an awesome experience in idukki dam. Dam is situated between 2 hills, kuravan and kurathi hills each hills have a rocky caves is one of the highest arch dams in Asia. Don't miss it :) private vehicles,mobile phones,cameras are not allowed inside the dam.
  • This is the world's second and Asia's first arch dam, constructed across the Kuravan and Kurathi hills. 550 ft. high and 650 ft. wide, the dam lies close to the Cheruthoni barrage. To its west is the Kulamavu Dam. Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary is located close by.
  • A very beautiful scene when u get down the stairs where u can leave your feet in the water. A must-visit place in Idukki.
