One of the oldest mosques in Hyderabad and one of the largest in India, Mecca Masjid stands tall as a remarkable granite structure with an intricate interior. After almost 77 years of work by 8,000 masons, the structure made of bricks and soil brought from Mecca was finally completed in 1694. Admire the three impressive arched facades, carved from a single piece of granite. The imposing mosque can accommodate 10,000 people at a time. • Astonishing structure... I was on Friday during Ramazan... It was amazing to see all came here to prayer before prayer time like four hour before.. And about the structure it was marvellous to see how any one can build that height during those day.. very geometric... I loved this.. place
  • Having Large history. I feel peace everytime I visit. I love this mosque.
  • The security staff is very rude and corrupt. He let local people carry their bags inside the mosque and stops tourists. Also, making people leave their bag outside is another way of making easy money. They let you carry your stuff even at Jama Masjid.
  • Beautiful & pleasant. Kind people. Architecturally, relatively basic. But beautiful.
  • Historical mosque...yes its built with stones from mecca (saudi arabia) but not all of the stones... if you wish to see those stones ..catch some local working in the mosque...he will take you to the front wall from outside...and show you which stones are from mecca...they are a bit darker shades then the rest of the stones.... Also heard that this mosque also containes the hair and tooth of prophet Mohammad (SAW) and it is displayed on the eve of Shab e miraj and Shab e qadr...
