Nestled on top of a granite hill, Golconda Fort, the place that once held the famous Koh-i-noor diamond, overlooks the city of Hyderabad. The historic structure served as the capital of the Qutb Shahi dynasty in the 16th and 17th centuries, before being abandoned. Explore the massive stone ruins, enjoy the panoramic view of the city, or try out the fort’s famed acoustics; a clap from anywhere on the premises can be heard on the highest point of the fortress. • An excellent place and a historic heritage spot. The area of fort is large, hilly and beautiful. The view from the top most point is breath taking. Try to avoid visiting this place in Sunny Day because of the heat else keep umbrella, hat or water bottle to deal with it. Not recommended for elderly people/ people having heart issue to climb to the top of the Fort as the steps are not easy to take. Overall it was an amazing experience

  • Beautiful fort, in complete ruins and not been taken care of. Its a massive fort with broken, unknown history spread over 500-700 years. Its not been kept in a best shape as vandals have written their names across the fort. Entry ticket is way too less at Rs.25. The management should charge higher amount and keep the fort in a good shape and preserve history.Must take children for educational trip to know more about Telangana . A lot of climb young children may need assistance. Maintenance is good but water points and washroom don't work. Spread out so wear comfortable footwear and breezy clothes . Avoid weekends and day trip. Go in the evenings to enjoy light and sound show. There is a temple too.It was a good hike up to the top but well worth it. It is a historic place with quite a few stairs but good.
  • Nice place to visit if you are in Hyderabad. The evening light and sound show is under repair hence we couldn't watch it. This happens in evening 6:30. Make sure you check it's website before planning for this show. Fort is big and has good history. Make sure you either read book or better take a tourist guide along. There are places where even if you whisper the sound travels more than a kilometre. Very thoughtful how in history people actually used knowledge of science which we just read and never use. Simple concepts but executed in perfection. You do not have washrooms here. So take care.
  • Beautiful fort! Might be good to read up on the history before or you can take a guide too but it’s better if you explore it yourself. The view from the top is amazing but the stairs are quite the journey. Don’t forget cap, water and sun protection.
