(4.6/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
Admire the millennium-old details of Chilkur Balaji Temple, a place of worship devoted to Venkateswara, a form of the Hindu god Vishnu. Also known as the "visa god," Venkateswara draws devotees praying to gain a visa to visit the United States. If their initial 11 rounds around the temple yield success, worshippers must perform another 97 circumambulations in thanks. The temple represents one of the few in the country that doesn't accept any money from devotees, and has no privileged access. • Great Hindu Temple to visit. People are coming from far even from foreign to worship here. This temple is very popular in Telangana. The main priest is very energetic and entertaining person. You will find decent restraunts near this temple. Also there is a huge open market around this temple.
  • Good temple, unique experience with exciting religious beliefs. Pray with open eye, so u can see god. Famous for foreign visa wishes & acceptance.
  • 1. Arrived at temple by 8:00 AM and found it to be freely moving. Quickly had a no rush darshan at the main deity and Shivaliam. Temple has a decent vibe for meditation. I suggest people spend some time and sit and meditate with a straight back keeping body and mind absolutely still. This can help with spiritual growth. 2. Cell phones are not allowed inside but there is a stand to place them. There is no footwear stand as such but can be placed with some of the vendors outside the temple walls. 3. Couple of small Udupi and tiffin centers just outside the temple for people who would like to have breakfast. 4. Parking is Rs. 10 for car and is about 200m from the temple.
  • I will always remember it for the great memories with my family. The whole getting up early, the ride to the temple and commentary by the Brahmin - Amazing!
