  • There is nothing to do here in Summers. You will see snow which fell many months ago. It will be dirty, and in small patches. If you have never seen snow in your life, it could be interesting. But for...  more »

  • Amazing place at height of almost 3900mts. You will love the road way to reach there. Bikes ride gives you the best experience. You can enjoy scenic view of snow. Play snow surfing, Para gliding and many adventure games and activities. You don't find any shops up there . So it is advised to take all necessary items or buy them on the way while passing small villages .
  • Visited in 2012. Life long experience. Amazing. Cannot be explained in words, can be experienced only. Dangerous roads, scared, deep down landscape, feel like that car will fell down any time, do not see down when you are moving in a car, look very dangerous, really. Amazed to see that hotels are available and one can enjoy tea with pakora and food of like at reasonable rate. People here are innocent, helping and will take care of you. Visit and enjoy, please.
  • Very adventurous and dangerous road. Buts it's safe with a local expert driver. The journey is really worth for what you see at the spot. Be early around 4am or 5am then you will be done by afternoon otherwise the jams are so intense during season that it may take the whole day if you start late.
  • Loved the place. Must visit. Place full of snow during seasons. Extraordinary view and experience. But it's very difficult to get vehicle permits to the place. So have to take taxi for which you have to pay minimum 5.5k. Taxi guys formed a mafia at Manali.
  • For sure, one of the best experiences of my life. The journey towards the pass itself is so heavenly and mesmerizing. Covered by snow walls on both sides of the road one cannot stop admiring the beauty. It's a tough uphill journey, specially if you are not comfortable with heights and twisted hilly roads; but trust me you will not at all regret all that pain once you complete the journey. Totally worth it. One can skid in the snow at lower places itself or depending on your strength can climb the snowy mountain and skid from few of the points located at high altitude. Personely my first time experience with snow was just outside this world. Don't forget to rent the dress, gloves and skiing equipments from the shops which you will find in plenty along the road side. It is must if you want to enjoy skiing. Overall a breathtaking and one of my best experiences till date. Hats off to the Indian army for maintaining the roads brilliantly. There are several vantage points and one could shoot photos from your car. When we reached the valley it was a phenomenal experience with so many people and the vast expanse of snow all around. Truely a once in a lifetime experience.

Where to stay in Manali

The hill station of Manali has long been a resort town, so it possesses a large number of accommodations. A varied set of places to stay spreads across the main urban area, with perhaps the greatest number located in a basin surrounding the bus depot, consisting of simple hotels, lodges, and guesthouses. Head up the hills to the west to find a slightly more refined set of hotels, with the most luxurious ones in town occupying spots overlooking the main town.
