4/5 based on 85+ reviews on the web
Rosary Church, was built by French Missioners in 1860 and represents the Gothic Architecture. The water has depleted its structure but not the peace and serenity of the place. During Monsoons, the church gets submerged, post monsoon as the water level descends, the church emerges out. Even when the church is half under the water, you can go near it on a coracle.

  • Awesome historical place to visit and it is covered by Hemavathi rivers, reaching to Gorur Dam & about 20 km far from my native place. Each time I am visiting this place, whenever I go to my home. Thank you Shettihalli Church.
  • Suitable place for camping. The main attraction is that, In monsoon the water will rise up to the top of the church. The British made this church out of lime stone and after independence our stupid government build a dam next to it and the whole village become under water. Now there is no one living next to it. There is a river next to it. But the river banks are Marsh area with full of mud & the water is not clear, may only at the time I visited. We reach there by 11 PM , and the place feel too spooky. Then we collect fire wood from nearby places. Be careful when you are camping there, because there were lots of broken glasses. Next day we woke up, there were some tractor coming and we realize that there will be cultivation in non monsoon seasons.
  • The place is awesome and reachability is a bit hard, also its littered by anti socials and watch-out for the broken beer bottle pieces everywhere, even inside its Altar. Praise the lord.!! :-)
  • Breathe taking. In its gothic majesty even when in ruins. A photographers delight especially during sunset.
