Chandi Devi Temple, Haridwar

4.4
Perched high up on a mountain and visible from far away, Chandi Devi Temple represents one of most ancient temples in India. Highly revered as a place where wishes are granted and blessings dispensed, the shrine is reachable by a 10-minute cable car, though you can also hike if you'd rather skip the line of waiting tourists. The present structure from 1929 may not seem overly visually appealing, but the spot it occupies provides a panoramic view of the area. • Hilltop temple at Haridwar. Chandi Devi Temple, Haridwar ( Hindi: चण्डी देवी मंदिर, हरिद्वार) is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Chandi Devi in the holy city of Haridwar in the Uttarakhand state of India. The temple is situated atop the Neel Parvat on the Eastern summit of the Sivalik Hills , the southernmost mountain chain of the Himalayas . Chandi Devi Temple was built in 1929 by Suchat Singh in his reign as the King of Kashmir. However, the main murti of Chandi Devi at the temple is said to have been installed in the 8th century by Adi Shankaracharya , one of the greatest priests of Hindu religion. The temple also known as Neel Parvat Teerth is one of the Panch Tirth (Five Pilgrimages) located within Haridwar.
  • Chandi Mata mandir at Haridwar. The idol at the mandir is believed to be established by Aadi Shankracharya Ji. You can use rope way, which is also a good option to reach the temple. You will love the scenic beauty all around the temple. A must see place, if you visit Haridwar. You must also visit the temple of Anjana Mata, mother of Hanuman Ji. It is around 100 mts above the Chandi Mata Mandir.
  • Also nice place, Jay mata di, almost 1.5km from Hari ki pauri
  • Place of religious interest. One can walk through steps or road or take a ropeway. Good views and ropeway experience is also good. Beware of monkeys they can snatch anything from your hands.
  • Its is one of the most famous sacred places to visit in Haridawar. The Temple is located at a distance of 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) from Har ki Pauri . Things which i like. . 1 :- Proper facilities for parking purpose. 2 :- Good and well maintained roads. 3:- The place was really clean. 4:- Polite behaviour of the peoples. . Its a really amazing temple located at a height of around 1770 feet from the ground. . There are two ways of going there either you can reach there by stairs or you can pay 300 rs per head and reach there in 15 minutes through the rope-way.. . Please keep the place Clean. Thank you
