Chandi Devi Temple, Haridwar

4.3
#4 of 33 in Things to do in Haridwar
Religious Site Tourist Spot
Perched high up on a mountain and visible from far away, Chandi Devi Temple represents one of most ancient temples in India. Highly revered as a place where wishes are granted and blessings dispensed, the shrine is reachable by a 10-minute cable car, though you can also hike if you'd rather skip the line of waiting tourists. The present structure from 1929 may not seem overly visually appealing, but the spot it occupies provides a panoramic view of the area. Put Chandi Devi Temple and other Haridwar attractions into our Haridwar trip generator, and watch your holiday take shape.

Where to stay in Haridwar

An important pilgrimage site, Nashik can accommodate large numbers of visitors from all walks of life, with a variety of lodgings from the upper end to small budget guesthouses. Most luxurious hotels follow the Nashik Freeway through the Uttan Nagar and Wasan Nagar areas, while mid-range options focus along Route 848 converging on the south bank of the Godavari River. Budget accommodations, called dharamshalas, can be found across the city. Some of the best mid-range hotels lie on the Agra-Pune highway and in Ambad.

  • Mansa devi(goddess) Hindu Temple located on a hill top, accessible via stairs and cable rope. Avoid cable if you wanna save time for unusual rush takes more time then the stairs. The temple is visible from far and is mind blowing when seen for the first time at night for you are left to wonder what is this so high(the lights at the top give the hill top a unique look).
  • One of the best experience that I had in religious places. The whole management and upper of the place is good. You can experience both ropeway and hiking to reach Mansa Devi Temple. Although there is generally a long queue for the ropeway and if you decide to go by hiking then vendors might hassle you take offerings to the temple.
  • Famous Mansa Devi Temple, situated about 150 meter high peak in Haridwar. You may reach here by walk or enjoy Rope way ride.
  • It is such a beautiful place to visit but unfortunately people like us have littered all around the temple and defamed it completely. I don't know when will we learn to keep our own places clean. Shameful!
  • Jai Mansa Devi, you will get a very nice view to Mansa Devi maintain. And enjoy to Udan-Khatola travels with familys.
