people of the 4th-5th century AD were aware of the pin hole camera; how the image is inverted and this can be seen here as the main facade is inverted at the rear end of the temple. Just splendid!!
This temple is one of the main places to visit in Hampi. Also, this is only temple which is intact without any damage. There is a story for that too, which is interesting to be heard . Must visit place.
Excellent temple in Hampi monuments. Lots of visitor everyday visit this temple. Place very clean. But not lots of option there for food.

Virupaksha Temple | Hampi is beautiful and a place where foreigners outnumber Indian tourists! I initially had a lot of apprehensions about going there, but to see how the glorious Vijayanagara dynasty was reduced to rubble, was pretty fascinating. It was once one of the richest kingdoms in the world, ruled by Krishnadevaraya, regarded as an icon who patronized the arts. The Virupaksha temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, is one of the very few structures which remained intact after the invasion of the Deccan sultanate
The Historic wonder,a blessed area of greenery.. The presence of music pillars across the temple is miracle, meanwhile there is illusion of shadows of the temple tomb inside the temple upside down... A must visit, aleast have fun with an elephant and a boat ride! P.s: one no need guides here, just have a good book and google maps works best here..!
The Ruins of Hampi ! Must visit place to experience the Grand lifestyle of the mighty Vijayanagra kingdom.
