(4.6/5 based on 45+ reviews on the web)
Carved out of a giant boulder, Kadalekai Ganesha ranks as the largest statue of Lord Ganesha within the World Heritage-listed Hampi complex. The 4.5 m (15 ft) statue sits inside a large inner sanctum within an open hall supported by slender pillars and decorated in images from various mythological stories. On the northeastern slope of Hemakuta Hill, the hall serves as one of Hampi's top observation points, providing some of the finest views of the surrounding area and other notable monuments of this archaeological site. • Kadalekalu Ganesha is a few meters away from Sasivekalu ganesha and is the bigger of the two. Unlike Sasivekalu ganesha, this idol is within a temple and per our tour guide, access to this temple was restricted to royal family. The deity's stomach and trunk was damaged during looting of Hampi.
  • amazing lord genesh idol. old one. historical one. place very cool and nice
  • Kadalekalu Ganesha is a monolithic stone statue of Hindu god Ganesha which was built by a merchant from the Hampi bazaar. Apparently after ripping in lots of profits, the merchant decided to dedicate a part of his wealth to the amazing kingdom of Hampi by building a monolithic Ganesha statue on the outskirts of Hampi Bazaar. Apart from the statue the structure is surrounded with the stone carvings of the name of the merchant who built it along with his dedication message. The structure is protected so you can't enter inside the property but can clearly see the huge 5 m tall Ganesha statue.
  • A masterpiece - monolithic structure from historic times. Though i believe Govt could do more for upkeep and marketing/highlighting these places more.
  • The temple of Kadalekalu Ganesha is a beautiful stone structure. Height of 15Feet,
